This was done as a competition amongst other designers for Ubisoft’s game Haze. All content was provided by Ubisoft such as game play footage, images, and music which was supplied by Korn.
After evaluating what the game was about and what kind of images were supplied, I went to work cutting up a lot of images and masking them out to be used in pieces throughout the video. My favorite section to build was in the beginning with the fly around of the card board cutout that I made of the main character. That shot was made up of fifty or so layers. All the game play footage had several layers put on top of it such as dust and dirt, blown out layer to bleach the whites, and an adjustment to blow out the video in general to make it look more chaotic. The transitions were made by creating a honeycomb in Illustrator and then using them as masks within After Effects.
